About Us and the Advice

That We Provide

North Liverpool CAB is a charity and a registered company limited by guarantee. Our core funding comes from Liverpool City Council. We provide free, confidential, impartial and independent advice to the communities of North Liverpool. Our advice is provided by trained advice workers offices in Anfield, Norris Green and an outreach centre in Walton

We are a member of Citizens Advice, the national organisation that provides the extensive information system we use to advise clients and sets standards for advice, training, equal opportunities and accessibility in the bureau. We speak up for change in social policies; from our clients’ experiences we can see where services and policies are failing and share the Aims and Principles of the CAB Service

What Advice and Information Do We Provide?

North Liverpool Citizens Advice Bureau provides both 'generalist advice' and 'specialist advice'.

Generalist Advice

Using the CAB Service’s unique information system all of our offices provide free, confidential, impartial and independent advice and information on a wide range of subjects to the communities of North Liverpool. We can work with you to sort out any debt worries and claim all the benefits you may be entitled to. We can help with housing and employment problems, or deal with queries about consumer or tax issues. We can advise on legal matters, answer questions about immigration and we have lots of experience on family and personal matters too.

Specialist Advice

We offer specialist advice casework and representation in welfare rights, debt and housing. This advice is available from Anfield, Norris Green and Walton by caseworkers funded by the Legal Services Commission assisted by trained advice work volunteers. To be eligible for this service you must be on a low income and eligible for Legal Help.

How Do I Access Advice?

In order to access our generalist and specialist advice services you need to attend one of our offices. The opening times and contact details of our offices can be gained from our Contact Us page. We do not currently provide email or online advice. Online advice on a variety of issues is available at: www.adviceguide.org.uk. Other sources of advice are also available from organisations listed on our Links page.
